Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation and ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties
- Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Help with cooking tasks as required, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest quality.
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly.
- Support the kitchen team in managing inventory by checking stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies when needed.
- Follow recipes and instructions from chefs to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends as required.
