This post is based at the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, but with responsibility for services delivered in conjunction with the Breast Screening Service based at Hull.
We are a busy, friendly department with dedicated teams of radiographers and support workers, with a good working relationship with other modalities, clinicians and other service users.
We offer a broad range of Breast Imaging services, working closely with referrers to support patient pathways.
We are actively committed to CPD and PPD and encourage our staff to widen their scope of practice, working with local and regional education providers to deliver formal training in support of this.
In order to maintain a continuously high standard of patient care, maximum flexibility of our workforce is necessary and therefore staff may be required to work flexibly. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Radiographic Practitioner in Breast Imaging to join the team within the Pink Rose Suite at the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby. The post holder will play an essential role in the Breast Imaging Service, and should be conversant with all aspects of breast imaging, including ultrasound, interventions, mammography & mammographic image interpretation. The post will also include stereotactic procedures and open access/family history assessments, and opportunity to undertake Breast MRI reporting for a suitably trained candidate.

The breast imaging team is a small, dedicated and friendly team undertaking symptomatic breast work for the North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and Goole regions. The Breast Imaging team undertakes approximately 5,500 mammograms and 7,600 ultrasound examinations per year. The team works with the breast surgical team to provide a comprehensive multidisciplinary service and works closely with the Humberside Breast Screening Service.
