Our client is in his 40s and lives in his own house near Walmley. We have shift vacancies 4pm - 10pm Monday to Friday and split shifts at the weekends 8-2 & 2-10 at the weekends.
He has staff 24 hours a day that can enable him to live independently (i.e. a mixture of day shifts and sleep-ins). He has Autism and Pica, has a strong reliance on routines but is mobile and enjoys a huge range of activities.
He is predominantly non-verbal, has impaired hearing and needs someone to ensure his safety and to prompt/support him (particularly with boundaries).
He has a great relationship with his staff but can get frustrated by changes and also if he becomes bored. He has a Positive Behaviour Support plan as his responses can be challenging so staff need to be mature in their approach and plan/communicate well in advance to help the rest of the team manage together. Staff with a working knowledge of PBS would be an advantage.
He needs staff to be able to drive as he has a mobility car and does like to get out and about but he will be going to day centre during the week.
We're looking to appoint someone to the existing team who can enable him to enjoy his life and support him appropriately.
