Community Transport Sussex requires a Part time Driver. This role will be for approx 25hrs per week, spread over 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, to drive a School Minibus from College Lane, East Grinstead. It will be for both the morning (07:00am - 09:30am) and afternoon school runs (2:30pm - 5pm), school term time only. There may be additional driving to assist with our Dial-a-Ride services predominately within the East Grinstead area.
This is a varied and rewarding role which as well as driving the school minibus, helping to transport SEND children on their school run; will also include driving for our Dial-a-Ride (DAR) service which transports mainly older people in our community, those with disabilities and local community groups on day trips and general administration for example completing daily driver logs, vehicle defect sheets. It may also occasionally involve driving wheelchair accessible minibuses around the local area.
Our Dial-a-Ride programme transports our clients to and from appointments, day care centres and / or to visit family.
You will need to have category D1 on your driving licence (if you passed your test before 1997 you will have). The position will require an enhanced DBS check. Full training will be given in all aspects of the work.
This position is based at our satellite Depot in East Grinstead, West Sussex.
