Location: CV1 Coventry city centre,

Salary: £24,765 per annum, 37.5 hour week,
Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm

We are looking to recruit a passionate commis chef to join our team in Coventry, as part of this role you would be working within a kitchen team of three and larger team of eleven. to service breakfast, lunch and hospitality events

Passion for food, being quick but having attention to detail are key

The candidate must hold two years experience working at a similar level

Job Description

Baxterstorey is seeking a talented and dedicated commis chef to join our culinary team in Coventry, United Kingdom. As a Commis chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our kitchen operations and contributing to the overall success of our food service.

• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in your designated section of the kitchen
• Ensure all food items are prepared to the exact specifications of our menu and recipes
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
• Assist in stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste
• Collaborate with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service delivery
• Contribute to menu planning and development, offering creative input when appropriate
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in your section
• Assist the Head Chef as required
• Maintain knowledge of current food trends and culinary techniques

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen
• Excellent knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Passion for food and commitment to culinary excellence
