CNC Machinist, Programmer, Setter, Operator
As a CNC Setter/Operator/Programmer, you will be integral to the manufacturing process, responsible for setting up, operating, and programming CNC machines to produce precision components. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will utilise your mechanical knowledge and premium skills in milling and CAD, to ensure high-quality output. Your relevant experience with hand tools, materials handling and mathematics will support efficient production.
Job Description
- Produce high-precision parts on CNC machines from billet to finished product.
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Set up, adjust, program, and operate machines for both repeat and custom jobs.
- Record and maintain accurate time tracking against work orders and projects.
- Enter job progress and operational data into internal systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor machine repairs, ensuring proper waste disposal.
- Adhere to strict standards of accuracy and quality.
- Actively contribute to 6S initiatives and promote a clean, organised working environment.
- Identify and action machining quality issues to help reduce cost of poor quality (CoPQ).
- Operate in line with BiSN’s HSE ethics – safety always comes first.
Required Skills & Attributes:
- Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC machines.
- Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools.
- Capable of working independently to solve machining challenges.
- Comfortable collaborating with technicians, engineers, and project managers.
- Ability to interpret and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and suggest improvements.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs (Grade 5–C or equivalent), including Maths and English.
Preferred Experience:
- Proven experience with XYZ systems.
- Proficient in CNC Milling.

Pay: £19.00-£20.00 per hour
