Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate a half million pound CNC machine to fabricate parts according to specifications
- Select and install appropriate tooling for each job
- Read and interpret technical drawings
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines
- Handle materials and perform quality checks to ensure accuracy of finished products
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary
- Keep a clean and well maintained machine and tool area
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Ability to manage workload and keep machine running and job flowing whilst punching
- Storing scrap steel in relevant scrappage bins
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating CNC machines or similar equipment preferred
- Familiarity with materials handling and basic math skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of logic controllers and their functions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise measurements
- Forklift license advantageous
- Ability to work in a factory environment with exposure to various weather conditions
