Job Title: Machinist
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Determine appropriate tooling, setup, and fixtures necessary to efficiently run jobs
- Read and interpret blueprints or sketches, or work from verbal instructions, or from the part to be copied or fitted
- Use any and all appropriate machinery to perform tasks assigned.
- Uses full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to inspect parts to determine what is necessary to start the job at hand.
- Change/set tools, collets, tool holders, as required.
- Identify and correct worn tooling, subpar finishes, excessive burrs
- Build new fixtures and/or machine parts as required.
- Able to set up and operate secondary machinery as required.
- Produce quality parts within production rates
- Assists engineering department in researching needs of fixtures, jigs, etc.
- Uses hand tools to fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies.
- Heat treats and welds parts as required.
- Draws sketches and writes work instructions as required.
- Inspects and where applicable, records, work being performed during all phases of machining.
- Adjusts speeds and feeds
- Trains operators on set-up, operation, and minor repairs
- Adheres to ISO9001/AS9100 standards and company requirements for all processes used and products produced
- Review production process for improvements
- Troubleshoot and repair machines, when possible
- Keep logs of down-time, maintenance performed, and repairs
- Read work orders/bill of materials to determine product specifications
- Responsible for quantity and quality to meet efficiency rates
- Maintain machinery during operation/direct scheduled maintenance
- Inspect products to ensure product excellence and quality using measuring tools (calipers/micrometer)
- Store or place product in designated areas
- Complete all necessary data to ensure production rates are met
- Report and/or enter production data into the company ERP system
- Ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines, including carrying out daily safety inspections
- Participate in all assigned training, including health and safety sessions
- Other duties as assigned
- Assist in training of other personnel as required
- Minimum 3 years machining experience.
- Ability to read blueprints
- Advanced understanding of Geometry
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent problem solving skills
- High school graduate or equivalent, technical training on machining preferred
- Ability to communicate – verbal and written
- Ability to perform basic math functions with accuracy
- Basic computer skills for data entry purposes.
- Experience of ERP system (preferred)
- Manufacturing experience (preferred)

- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally
