The Team:
Set near a picturesque Tasmanian coastline, the North West Regional Hospital, Burnie is a 160-bed facility and is the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community and provides general medicine, surgical (including orthopaedic), intensive care, cancer services, paediatric services, outpatient clinics and specialist services. The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive training.
The NWRH Theatre is a vibrant, supportive team consisting of four operating theatres providing Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, General Surgery, ENT, Endoscopy and Dental services. NWRH Theatre is committed to a positive workplace culture, and excellent clinical care within a supportive environment. Standard working hours are a variety of shifts between the hours of 0700 and 2230 seven days a week, with the ability to offer flexible working arrangements, and on call service overnight. NWRH Theatres have a dedicated leadership and education team to support all learning and development needs.
The Role:
The Clerk (Theatre) will:
- Provide and maintain a high standard of customer focused clerical, administrative and reception services.
- Maintain confidentiality and work according to all Agency policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure all information management systems are maintained and processes conducted in accordance with the relevant guidelines and protocols of the Agency.
You will need:
- Well-developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with public and staff at all levels
- Experience in administrative functions and the ability to undertake those duties efficiently and effectively within a hospital environment together with knowledge of policies, procedures, guidelines and legislation and how they are used in the workplace.
- Knowledge and practical experience in the operation of computer information management and booking systems, the use of the Microsoft Office specifically including word processing and spreadsheets and the ability to produce basic reports from these.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 22.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 15 May 2026.

Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Eligibility:
