Job Title: Clerical Officer

Location: Sheffield

Hours: Monday – Friday 08:30 – 16:30 22.5 hours (Temporary for 3 months)

Trust Location: Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Glossop Road, Broomhall, Sheffield, S10 2JF

What you’ll be responsible for:

· Liaise on a daily basis with colleagues, and the Service Coordinator, clinicians and other administrative staff to ensure full utilisation of all available out patient slots.

· Manage partial booking/review lists reporting potential overdue patients appointments to the Assistant Service Manager.

· Responsible for contacting patients by letter and/or telephone to confirm out patient appointments and hospital transport arrangements, adhering to the Trust Policy concerning patient confidentiality.

· Deal with telephone enquiries Voice Mail, E Mail promptly and efficiently. Communicate clearly and effectively with all internal and external Health Care Professionals and other clerical staff.

· Organise outpatient activity for the multiple specialists and their teams using Lorenzo, and any other identified data base e.g. Infoflex, to book new and follow up appointments, in line with Trust/National Policy, to meet local and National targets.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· Excellent telephone management skills

· Microsoft Office package knowledge e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel

· NHS System Knowledge

· Worked in a similar role previously
