We are currently re-opening one of our solo homes in Smethwick and are building a brand-new staff team. We are now looking for resilient and caring Residential Care Workers to join us in providing outstanding support to the young person in our care.
The Role
As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the solo home. Working as part of a small, dedicated team, you will provide direct care, emotional support, and encouragement to a young person with complex needs, helping them build independence, resilience, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, high-quality care and support tailored to the young person’s needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships and act as a role model.
- Support with education, leisure, daily routines, and life skills.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of the young person at all times.
- Maintain accurate records, contribute to care plans, and attend reviews.
- Work flexibly on a rota, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
About You
- Experience working with children and young people (residential experience desirable but not essential).
- NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care (or willingness to work towards it with full support provided).
- Understanding of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed care.
- Resilient, compassionate, and committed to making a difference.
- Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work as part of a close-knit team.
