Job Title: Children’s Residential Care Worker

Salary: £26,000 – £29,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

About Us
Beacon Childcare provides safe, nurturing, and high-quality residential care for children and young people. Our 3-bedded home in Erdington supports children with Learning Disabilities (LD), many of whom require consistent care, patience, and therapeutic support to thrive.
We are now looking for compassionate and resilient Residential Care Workers to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to directly support children aged 8–18, helping them to build independence, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes.
The Role
As a Children’s Residential Care Worker, you will be at the heart of daily life in the home. You’ll work as part of a team to provide structure, care, and encouragement to the children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development are always the priority.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with Learning Disabilities.
- Build supportive relationships and act as a positive role model.
- Support children with personal care, daily routines, education, and leisure activities.
- Encourage independence and promote social and life skills.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.
- Keep accurate records, contribute to care plans, and attend reviews.
- Work flexibly on a rota, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
About You
- Experience working with children and young people with Learning Disabilities (desirable but not essential).
- NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care (or willingness to work towards it, with full training and support provided).
- Patient, caring, and committed to making a positive difference.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child development.
- Flexible, reliable, and able to work as part of a team.
