Overview
We’re looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our hospitality team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for great food and coffee, and enjoys delivering exceptional service. You’ll take ownership of our small deli bar, while also supporting the wider team in the staff restaurant. Barista experience is essential
Responsibilities
- Deli Bar Operations
- Prepare and serve a variety of fresh deli items including sandwiches, salads, and snacks
- Operate the deli counter efficiently, ensuring it is well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
Barista Duties
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and hot beverages using professional barista equipment
- Maintain consistency in drink presentation and taste
- Clean and maintain coffee machines and equipment daily
- Stay up to date with seasonal drink offerings and contribute ideas for new creations
Staff Restaurant Support
- Assist with food preparation and service during breakfast and lunch service
- Set up and clear down service areas, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency
- Support with stock rotation, deliveries, and general kitchen duties
- Follow health & safety and food hygiene regulations
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role
- Essential: Proven barista experience with knowledge of espresso machines and coffee service
- Strong customer service skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team
- Basic food hygiene certification (Level 2 or above preferred)
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
The role is a 37.5 hour a week contract and your hours will fall between 7am and 5pm over 5 days Monday to Friday. We also do some evening events which are shared amongst the chefs and are paid at enhanced rates.
Your holiday entitlement will be 20 days holiday plus bank holidays and you will be given an extra day off for your birthday.
