Bristol City Council’s Housing & Landlord Services are currently recruiting Carpenters join our Responsive Repairs team. The Response Repairs Team focuses on delivering high quality, cost effective responsive repairs to a large variety of properties amongst our 28000 homes.
We are seeking to employ enthusiastic and motivated carpenters to join our response carpentry team. Within this role you will complete a wide range of carpentry tasks including inspections, installation, repairs and maintenance.
This role requires a good understanding of building pathology, especially when related to carpentry hazards, defects, and their causes. The successful candidate should be methodical and enquiring. The role requires commitment, accountability, and a can-do attitude, where going the extra mile is normal practise. We are always looking for continuous improvement in our delivery of this essential service, working within dedicated timelines and budgets. The role is varied, fast paced, challenging, rewarding and delivers job and customer satisfaction.
You will hold a trade qualification (NVQ L2/L3 or C&G in carpentry) and be CSCS registered plus extensive professional trade experience in carpentry and joinery.
You will also hold a full driving licence. The post requires a moderate level of fluency. You must have the ability to converse with citizens and provide complex information in accurate spoken English, or through a BSL interpreter.
