Overview:
We are currently seeking a Caretaker to join our team. As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the upkeep and functionality of the internal and external communal areas of private residential blocks of apartments. This is a hands-on role that requires a combination of gardening skills, DIY/maintenance skills, and cleaning skills.
Duties:
- Perform cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting various surfaces.
- Clean all communal entrance ways, stairwells, and other common areas.
- Report any issues/damage where appropriate to the Building Manager.
- Test Emergency Lighting monthly (Flick Test) & keep a log. Check fire doors and report any issues.
- Undertake gardening tasks such as lawn mowing, hedge trimming, weeding, and planting flowers.
- Maintain outdoor areas including pathways, driveways, and patios.
- Ensure that gardening tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with clients and address any concerns or special requests promptly.
- Undertaken general repairs & maintenance throughout the development including fire doors, decoration, changing bulbs, reactive maintenance
Requirements:
- Proven experience in cleaning and gardening roles preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and prolonged standing.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
