We are seeking a friendly yard assistant to join our vehicle preparation team. The ideal candidate will be organised, well presented and reliable.
The job role is site based, working from our dealership on Sheepbridge Lane, Chesterfield, S41 9RX.
The role is part time working three days a week inclusive of two Saturdays a month 10am-3pm.
Your role includes the main responsibilities as detailed below, plus, any other ad hoc tasks that may arise on a daily basis:
- Safely drive vehicles to and from MOT stations, service centres, or other required locations.
- Keep the dealership yard clean, tidy, and organised, including moving vehicles as required.
- Assist with general site duties such as waste disposal, sweeping, and minor maintenance tasks.
- Support sales and service teams by delivering vehicles or collecting parts as instructed.
- Follow all health, safety, and road regulations while performing duties.
- Represent the dealership professionally when interacting with MOT centres, customers, or suppliers.
Please note, this is a small, very busy business and you must be able to work independently and show initiative. Sometimes, you may need to complete tasks to tight deadlines and you should be able to handle these requests calmly.
Skills & Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence (manual essential).
- Confident and safe driver with experience handling a range of vehicles.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work on own initiative.
- Well presented and physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Flexible and willing to carry out a variety of tasks as required.
This role would suit someone who:
- Enjoys being outdoors and keeping busy with hands-on work
- Is a confident, careful driver (manual licence required)
- Likes a bit of variety in their day – driving cars and keeping the yard tidy
- Has a good eye for detail and takes pride in doing a job properly
- Is reliable, punctual, and happy to help out where needed
