CAMHS School in Reach (SiR) Educational Mental Health Practitioner

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board
£39,263 - £47,280 a year
Wrexham, Wales
Full time
This is an exciting opportunity for a registered Health & Social Care professional to join the CAMH School In-Reach Service. You will work directly with education teams of teaching and non-teaching staff in schools across Flintshire and Wrexham to enhance the support already provided by our specialist CAMHS colleagues and other stakeholders.

We are hoping to recruit experienced practitioner/s permanently to contribute to strengthening the mental health knowledge and skills of education staff working in the 147 schools across Flintshire and Wrexham.

You will be based working from home and will have access to an area hub office.

As an Education Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing direct CAMHS mental health consultation, advice, guidance and training to education staff and provide indirect support to the learners attending schools within a given area.

The ability to speak Welsh and drive/travel across the two counties is desirable for the service. Please note if you are unable to work full time, alternative working patterns will be considered.

Please note this post is predominately working with adults, working indirectly with children through the provision of consultation, and strengthening the capacity of education staff to respond to the emerging mental health needs of children and young people, a knowledge and/or experience of working with people across the life span would be an advantage.

If you relish a challenge, have a passion to help others or simply fancy a fresh start, then Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales, has all the right ingredients. The largest health organisation in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of around 700,000, across North Wales . Join our team and get the support you need, in line with our Organisational Values and ‘Proud to Lead’ competence framework.

Enjoy being part of working with engaged leadership at all levels, and be assured we are committed to promoting equality and diversity, and are proud to welcome applicants under the “Disability Confident Employer” scheme.

Please check your email account regularly. Successful applicants will receive all recruitment related correspondence via the email account registered on the application form.

Applications may be submitted in Welsh. Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English

You will be able to find a full Job description and Person Specification attached within the supporting documents or please click “Apply now” to view in Trac.
