The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in culinary practices, particularly in meat preparation and food safety. As a Butcher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and presentation of our meat products, contributing to our commitment to exceptional food standards.
Duties
- Prepare and cut various types of meat according to specifications, ensuring high-quality presentation for commercial and domestic customers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, adhering to strict food safety standards.
- Process orders efficiently while managing inventory levels of meat products.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure timely preparation of orders requiring specific cuts.
- Monitor and maintain equipment used in meat processing, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Educate customers about different cuts of meat and recommend cooking techniques to enhance their culinary experience.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to food production and preparation.
Experience
- Previous experience as a butcher or in a similar role within the culinary or restaurant industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Familiarity with various cuts of meat and their appropriate uses in cooking.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members alike.
- A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering high-quality food products.
