Company Overview
Fourway Coaches, based in Gomersal near Leeds, operates a number of buses and coaches. Having recently secured new bus service contracts with West Yorkshire Combined Authority, we are recruting a number of additional bus drivers to operate these new routes.
Summary
We are a small team and believe in looking after our colleagues. We don't expect bus drivers to drive coaches - This role will solely operate local bus services. Full time positions are available, but we are also happy to look at part-time options, with the possibility to work 2, 3 or 4 days a week rather than 5, subject to certain conditions being met (i.e. part time drivers need to work either a Saturday or a Sunday, to keep the rota fair for the full time drivers etc.).
Responsibilities
- Safely operate buses on designated routes whilst adhering to traffic regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with enquiries and ensuring a pleasant travel experience.
- Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe and well-maintained before departure.
- Maintain accurate records of passenger counts and any incidents during the journey.
- Wash, sweep and fuel your bus at the end of each shift.
- Collaborate with supervisors and managers to manage schedules effectively and respond to any changes or emergencies.
- Promote a positive image of Fourway Coaches through professional conduct and appearance.
Requirements
- Valid PCV driving licence, valid in the UK.
- Strong communication skills in English for effective interaction with passengers and team members.
- Positive, collaborative attitude, with a degree of flexibility required.
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and handle emergencies calmly.
- Previous experience in a driving role is advantageous but not mandatory.
