Position: Breakfast / After School Club Assistant
Working Hours: 7:15am - 9:00am | 3:00pm - 6:00pm (Monday to Friday) Term Time Only (Opportunity For Additional Work During School Holidays)
Job Purpose:
As an breakfast & afterschool Club Assistant, you will support the delivery of a fun, engaging, and safe before & afterschool provision for children. You will assist in planning and supervising activities, ensuring a secure environment, and promoting positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and delivery of a variety of structured and free-play activities.
- Supervise and engage with children, encouraging participation and positive behaviour.
- Support with snack preparation and maintain hygiene and safety standards.
- Ensure the welfare and safeguarding of all children in the setting, following company policies and procedures.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a welcoming environment.
- Assist in setting up and tidying away activities, maintaining cleanliness and safety at all times.
- Administer first aid when necessary (training provided if required).
- Follow health and safety guidelines and report any concerns to the Afterschool Club Leader.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Experience working with children in a play, school, or childcare setting.
- A passion for child development and creating engaging play opportunities.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to use initiative.
- A commitment to safeguarding children.
Desirable:
- A relevant childcare qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 in Playwork, Childcare, or equivalent).
- Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to undertake training).
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
