Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our small family business based in Stoke prior. Sage or Xero, essential, part time, The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our financial processes and will involve working closely with various departments to support their financial needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records by recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process.
- Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and vendors.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure that all transactions are accounted for.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Collaborate with external accountants during audits and tax preparations.
- Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage to manage financial data effectively.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies in financial data.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
