Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation. This position requires proficiency using Xero accounting software and a strong understanding of accounts payable processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers using accounting software including Xero.
- Process accounts payable and ensure timely payments to suppliers and vendors.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis.
- Prepare Payroll for 15 staff members and forward payment and data to our external accountants.
- Liaise with Managers and Directors of businesses within the company group to ensure dividends and other payments are dealt with within the expected timeframe.
- Maintain an efficient digital and hard copy filing system for third-party supplier contracts and service-level agreements
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly the Xero platform.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and third party suppliers.
