Barrista
Description
Barristas will be responsible for preparing drinks for customers at our Mezzanine cafe where we will offer a lunch menu of soups and fresh sandwiches and an evening menu of ready meals. The cafe will offer speciality hot & cold drinks, including fresh smoothies, which will be lovingly crafted by our Barristas.
Responsibilities will include preparation of
- Hot drinks such as loose leaf teas, organic coffee with steamed milk,
- Cold drinks such as fresh smoothies alongside cold brew tea and coffee
Barristas will track fulfilment of orders using an electronic point of sales system while ensuring orders are fulfilled efficiently and effectively. They will also be expected to help ensure the cafe area is well-stocked and clean.
Working pattern
- Up to 36 hours per week
- Monday to Saturday
- AM or PM shifts
- AM 7:45-13:45
- PM 13:15-19:15
- Occasional additional hours to cover staff absence
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good personal hygiene and presentation
- Previous experience in a Barista role is essential
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is a bonus
- Ideal candidates will be advocates of wholesome food (avoiding Ultra-Processed Foods)
- Willingness to build expert product knowledge to sell and recommend our products
Salary
Dependant upon age and experience:
- 18-20 year olds: Starting at £10.05 per hour
- 21+ year olds: Starting at £12.25 per hour

We’re a local independent delicatessen and grocery store in Neath, South Wales. Our founders are the family behind Rosa’s Bakery, the hugely popular artisan bakery founded just two years ago. A flagship retail unit has been secured in the centre of Neath town which has been equipped across two floors to a high standard.
We value wholesome, local and organic food. We strictly screen products and ingredients to avoid any ultra-processed foods. We’re working with local farmers, growers, food producers and the NPT food partnership to invest in the local food scene.
In addition to our extensive range of fine groceries, we also offer a lunchtime menu and ready-made evening meals for takeaway.
