We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Barista and Play/Party Host for Mini Me Role Play Centre. The role involves providing exceptional customer service to parents and children visiting our facility, preparing and serving beverages, and facilitating role-playing activities for children in a safe and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and a passion for working with children.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome parents and children as they enter the Mini Me Role Play Centre.
- Provide information about our facility and the available role-playing activities.
- Take orders and prepare a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and smoothies, following established recipes and procedures.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the coffee bar area, including maintaining stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
- Engage with children during role-playing activities, encouraging imaginative play and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Monitor children to ensure they are following safety guidelines and behaving appropriately.
- Assist with set-up and clean-up before and after each play session.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently, following cash handling procedures.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and implement new ideas for enhancing the customer experience.
As a Party Host, you will lead children’s parties, run discos, and ensure a fun, high-energy experience while communicating effectively with parents.
Party Host:
- Lead children's party activities, including themed role-play and disco sessions.
- Interact with children to keep them entertained and engaged.
- Communicate effectively with parents to ensure smooth event coordination.
- Set up and clean party areas before and after events.
- Maintain a high-energy, fun atmosphere while ensuring safety.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a customer service role, preferably in a cafe or childcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with children and adults.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for processing transactions and calculating change.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- A genuine interest in working with children and fostering their creativity and imagination.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and childcare is desirable.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
