Bank Medical Receptionist / Scanner (administrator) required for 9 hours per week and to also provide bank cover for sickness and annual leave in the administration / receptionist department.

Mondays - 12:00-18:00 in reception
Fridays -12:00pm-15:00pm in administration

To provide a courteous, knowledgeable and efficient first point of contact for all patients and visitors to the practice.
To provide the administrative support necessary for the efficient operation of reception to both patients and other practice team members. This will require 3 hours of scanning per week and 6 hours in reception (9 hrs) regular hours.
To provide high quality primary medical services
To provide advice on health promotion and general well being
To provide and develop services in line with developments in medical services and those services deemed to be appropriate for the resident population
To refer and direct patients to partner organisations for their ongoing health and social care needs
- To provide an efficient and courteous reception service
- Maintain patient confidentiality and recognise risks of breach
- To facilitate and direct patient enquiries either by face to face contact or by telephone
- Deal with patients’ urgent requests in line with practice policy
- To book appointments in line with the practice policy for GPs, Nurses and other Healthcare Professionals
- To direct all communications from external agencies to other personnel in the practice
- To ensure all messages and communications for GPs, Nurses and Dispensers are appropriately recorded
- To enter all appropriate data onto the practice clinical IT system in accordance with practice guidelines
- Providing both GPs and Nurses with information for surgeries, visits etc.,
- Recording and receipt of forms and payments from patients associated with necessary insurance/medical works - advise patients on charges for non-NHS services
- Provision of administrative function associated with patient registrations as per practice guidelines
- Recording and receipt of patient comments, complaints and suggestions
- To attend and participate positively in staff meetings
- Ad hoc duties as required by partners or line management
- Ensure waiting room and reception area is kept tidy
- To provide administrative functions to facilitate patient registration management
Part-time hours: 9 hours along with bank cover and the occasional Saturday.
