As a Bakery Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our bakery team by assisting with daily operations, including bakery preparation, baking, packaging, and customer service. You will contribute to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, ensure the quality of our baked goods, and provide excellent service to our customers. A passion for baking and attention to detail are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation & Baking: Assist in preparing and baking various baked goods, ranging from cookie dough, bread, and cakes, ensuring accurate measurements and adherence to recipes. Monitor the baking process to ensure products are baked to perfection.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all baked goods are of high quality, checking for consistency in appearance, texture, and taste.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly, courteous service to customers in the bakery, answering questions about our products and offering suggestions. Help with packaging cookies for takeout and catering orders.
- Inventory Management: Help with managing ingredients and supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained. Assist with inventory checks and communicate restocking needs to the Bakery Manager.
- Cleaning & Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including washing dishes, utensils, and baking equipment. Follow hygiene and safety protocols to ensure a sanitary and safe environment.
- Assisting with Special Orders: Assist in preparing baked goods for special orders, including custom flavors or bulk orders for events, catering, or holidays.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other bakery staff to ensure smooth daily operations and support team members during peak times.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food service environment is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques and food safety is preferred.
- Passion for baking and enthusiasm for creating high-quality cookies.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Friendly, customer-focused attitude with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
