Part-Time: Must be able to work Wednesdays 5:30-7:30 (36 weeks term time)
Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Part-Time Athletics Coach to join our Elite Performance centre. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with youth athletes. You will be responsible for designing and implementing age-appropriate programmes that enhance athletic performance, prevent injuries, and promote overall physical development. This would suit somebody looking for extra work or who’s currently studying or just finished university. We have strong links with professional clubs within the midlands. More work is available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Athletic programmes tailored to the needs of young football players aged 9-15.
- Conduct i group training sessions focusing on strength, speed, agility, endurance, and injury prevention.
- Monitor and assess athletes' progress, adjusting programmes as necessary to ensure optimal development.
- Collaborate with football coaches to integrate conditioning programmes with overall training plans.
- Educate young athletes on proper exercise techniques, nutrition, and recovery strategies.
- Maintain a safe and supportive training environment, ensuring all activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Provide mentorship and motivation to young athletes, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Athletics Coach, preferably with a focus on youth athletes
- Strong understanding of child development and the ability to create age-appropriate training programmes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and inspire young athletes.
- Passionate about youth sports and committed to promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
- Must be able to commit to the (36 weeks term time)
- DBS & safeguarding (we can put you through this if you haven’t)
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children aged 9-15 in a coaching or athletic training capacity.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
