dna Communications is an integrated medical communications agency.. Part of the IPG DXTRA Healthcare ecosystem, the dna Communications Medical Education team offers clients high-level insights into the ever-changing commercial landscape through strategic, medical educational, behavioural change and engagement programmes.

A SNAPSHOT OF THE ROLE
Associate Medical Writers (AMWs) enter the dna Communications team with a strong science background. This is a foundation skills-building role to enter either our scientific content/medical writing or client experience career path. The role will primarily involve providing support to the scientific content team in the following areas: scientific reference sourcing; reference fact-checking; electronic document mark-up; and training on, and use of, the industry-standard reference tools, such as EndNote and document certification platforms, such as Veeva. Ultimately dna's goal is to support communications to improve health, in line with specific client needs, while maintaining a high ethical standard and adhering to industry regulations and guidelines.

Key responsibilities
Scientific content responsibilities
- Able to accurately reference (e.g., EndNote) and fact-check documents for scientific accuracy
- With guidance, electronically mark up, check and upload documents to certification platforms, such
as Veeva - Able to proof and provide feedback on designed/for-print outputs
- Produces a high standard of work at all times and works to maintain all company quality standards, continually looking for areas of improvement
Agency responsibilities
- Is highly organised and able to manage writing projects across multiple accounts
- Takes responsibility for timely, effective and efficient organisational and administrative elements of their account work
- Has strong communication skills that involve listening to other team members and taking on advice and input from senior team members
- Ensures clear communication with supervisors to ensure they are updated on work in progress and briefed when having difficulty achieving required results
- Works to activity plans and ensures understanding of detailed project requirements; taking initiative to liaise with supervisors and third parties (e.g., designers) to deliver to brief
- Interacts positively and effectively with clients, suppliers and other stakeholders and builds
professional relationships - Liaises well with clients as needed to progress tactics
- Ensures that time sheets are completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Copes well under pressure
- Contributes constructively to internal company meetings
- Demonstrates exemplary conduct at all times
Required skills and competencies
Scientific content development
- Recently graduated with a BSc/MSc qualification
- Able to conduct scientific searches across key databases (e.g., PubMed) and identify key areas for outlines of scientific content for new writing outputs
- With guidance, being able to pull basic metric reports together using data provided
- Actively develops an understanding of the NHS and major European health systems
- Develops a clear understanding of regulatory frameworks, including the ABPI, PMCPA and EFPIA codes
