Your projects will include groundwater abstraction licences, hydrogeological risk assessments, environmental impact assessments, water monitoring and hydrogeological site investigation. As well as working alongside the hydrologists and hydrogeologists in our team, you will also work with colleagues from our ecology, land quality, planning and minerals teams to support the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects where your hydrogeological expertise is needed. This position is an opportunity for you to progress to the next stage of your career, taking on responsibility for managing projects, developing relationships with clients, and providing technical guidance to more junior staff.

Through your other duties you will:
  • Have involvement in all aspects of successful project delivery including proposals writing, risk identification, project set-up, track progress against budgets, and ensure the issue of a suitably high quality of deliverables to strengthen client relationships.
  • Manage and direct projects and tasks within your specialist area and communicate with internal and external clients.
  • Provide workload to others in the team and other disciplines
  • Mentor and coach others.
  • Support the development of more junior members of the team through on the job training and guidance;
  • Have input into the strategic direction, planning and development of the team, creating new opportunities and prospects, and enhancing team capacity and capability.
  • Keep abreast of technical innovation, changes to regulations and contribute to ensuring we provide high value advice which complies with recognised best practice, technical guidance and UK regulations impacting water management in the mining, minerals and waste spaces, ensuring SLR is well placed to take advantage of change.

We are preferably looking for someone to be located in our Stoke on Trent or Shrewsbury offices but would be willing to consider applicants for any of our existing UK offices. The role is full time although flexible and hybrid working options are available and part time working arrangements would be considered.
