To continue our growth, we’re seeking an experienced, motivated, and people-focused Clinical / Assistant Practice Manager. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on clinical leadership with team development and practice management, playing a central role in shaping both our patient journey and our supportive workplace culture.
About the Role
As our Clinical / Assistant Practice Manager, you’ll work closely with our Practice Manager and leadership team to ensure the smooth, compliant, and efficient running of the practice. This is a dynamic, varied role that combines leadership, compliance, administration, and also hands-on clinical support.
You’ll be both a mentor and motivator for our clinical team, ensuring our surgeries run efficiently, safely, and to the highest possible standard of patient care. You’ll also help keep our front-of-house and back-office administration organised, professional, and patient-focused.
Key responsibilities:
Clinical & Compliance
- Lead, support, and inspire the nursing and clinical teams, fostering a positive and collaborative culture
- Ensure full compliance with CQC, GDC, HTM 01-05 and all regulatory standards
- Oversee infection control, health & safety procedures, audits, and quality assurance systems
- Manage stock, equipment, and clinical systems to ensure surgeries run smoothly and efficiently
- Support recruitment, inductions, training, and the professional development of clinical staff
- Step in to assist chairside or within the practice when required, maintaining seamless patient care and team support
- Produce accurate compliance and performance reports, providing ongoing support to the Practice Manager in delivering the highest standards of care
Administrative & Operational
- Oversee the daily administrative operations of the practice, ensuring an efficient and well-organised workflow
- Manage rotas, team planning, and scheduling systems to optimise patient flow and staff resources
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring timely and precise data entry in line with GDPR and practice protocols
- Handle correspondence with patients, suppliers, and external stakeholders promptly and professionally
- Monitor and refine practice processes to improve efficiency, patient experience, and service delivery
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll be a GDC-registered Dental Nurse with proven leadership or senior nursing experience in a dental environment. You thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centred practice, balancing compliance with compassionate care, and you’re eager to take the next step in your career.
Essential:
- Strong knowledge of CQC, GDC, HTM 01-05 standards
- Experience managing, supervising, or mentoring a clinical team
- Excellent communication, organisational, and people skills
- Confidence with audits, compliance systems, and reporting
- Strong administrative and IT skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive, calm under pressure, and solutions-focused
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a Clinical Manager, Assistant Manager, or Head Nurse
- Knowledge of private / biological dentistry and wellness-focused services
- Experience with digital systems and practice management software
