Role Overview:
As the Assistant Head Housekeeper, you will work closely with the Head Housekeeper to oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department. This key role involves supervising the team, ensuring that all areas of the hotel meet cleanliness and presentation standards, and maintaining effective communication between departments to provide the best service to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Housekeeper in overseeing the daily operations of housekeeping, ensuring all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.
Supervise, support, and motivate the housekeeping team, providing guidance and training as needed.
Manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for peak times and effective use of resources.
Conduct inspections of guest rooms and public spaces, providing feedback to the team and identifying areas for improvement.
Help ensure the efficient management of cleaning supplies, equipment, and linen.
Work closely with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth operations across the hotel.
Assist with administrative tasks, including stock control, reporting, and implementing SOPs.
Step in as Acting Head Housekeeper during their absence, maintaining operational continuity.
What We are Looking For:
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within housekeeping or a similar hospitality environment.
Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team.
A keen eye for detail and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of housekeeping operations, safety standards, and cleaning procedures.
A proactive approach, with the ability to identify issues and resolve them efficiently.
