RWDI is seeking a recent Acoustics graduate to join our Noise Acoustics and Vibration team at our Brighton office as an Assistant Consultant (Scientist/Engineer).
The role includes but is not limited to:
- Conducting field noise and vibration measurements.
- Undertaking on-site building noise and vibration measurements.
- Data handling, processing and analysis.
- Conducting environmental and building acoustics noise and vibration assessments.
- Performing computer modelling using SoundPLAN, CadnaA, NoiseMap, Odeon and Insul.
- Designing effective noise and vibration mitigation measures.
- Meeting and exceeding client expectations and project milestones.
- Writing clear and concise technical project reports on large and small projects.
- Providing advice on technical problems and following the appropriate QA/QC Procedures.
We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Acoustical, Civil, Architectural Acoustics Engineering or Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline, preferably with focus on acoustics, noise and/or vibration.
- Ability to successfully meet schedules and control costs.
- Demonstrated initiative, independent problem-solving methods/capabilities.
- An ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment to provide practical solutions with minimal supervision, while multi-tasking in meeting deadlines.
Candidates should also possess:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong people and team skills.
- Proven organizational capability, decision making and coordination skills while working on a number of projects.
- Demonstrated initiative, independent problem-solving methods/capabilities.
- An eye for detail and an innate need to get things right.
- Persistence to see a job through to conclusion.
- Aptitude for practical problem-solving and shrewd judgment.
- Drive to continuously improve processes and enhance efficiency.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
- Full, clean UK driving license.
Experience in the following areas would be considered an asset:
- Advanced level Microsoft Excel and Word capabilities.
- Intermediate level user of SoundPLAN, CadnaA, NoiseMap, Odeon and Insul or similar software.
- Intermediate level user of AutoCAD and reading Engineering Drawings.
- Intermediate level user of ArcGIS, QGIS or similar GIS package.
