Job Title: Assistant Adviser (Environment)
Salary: c. £24,824
Location: Stoneleigh, Warwickshire
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract Type: 12 months Fixed Term Contract

Purpose of the role & how you will contribute:
Are you passionate about farming and its contribution to the environment? We're seeking a talented individual who can support the NFU’s Environment Team in shaping and communicating environmental policy. In this role, you will be assisting in monitoring and evaluating the development and implementation of national legislation, policies and practices to assess their implications for farmers and growers.
What you’ll bring:
With an HND, or degree in Agriculture / Environmental Science or a related field, you’ll have a passion for environmental policy, strong communication skills and the ability to analyse complex information. You’ll be collaborative, organised and eager to support farmers and growers in navigating environmental challenges and opportunities. You will be comfortable at building strong internal relationships with both colleagues and external stakeholders and have the ability to deliver accurate information within set timescales.

Who we are
Every day, we're the voice of around 44,000 British farmers and growers who produce food, making sure their concerns are heard at the heart of government both online and locally. This team takes an active role in developing and influencing the policies that benefit farming businesses across the UK. This means keeping up to date with and responding to national and international developments, engaging with and advising NFU members, and putting their decisions into action.
It’s exciting, complex work, covering every area of farming and dealing with a range of stakeholders, from government ministers, civil servants and the media, to local NFU branches.
