We are now seeking an inspirational Head of Area to lead our Mechanical and Electrical Services provision – overseeing Plumbing and Electrical Installations across both classroom-based and Apprenticeship programmes.
Job Title: Head of Area – Mechanical and Electrical Services
About the Role:
- Lead the strategic development and delivery of Plumbing and Electrical Installations programmes
- Oversee both classroom-based and Apprenticeship pathways to ensure high-quality learning experiences
- Manage a dedicated team of teaching staff to ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment
- Ensure the curriculum offer is efficient, responsive, and aligned with industry standards and employer needs
- Contribute to the overall success and reputation of Colchester Institute’s technical education provision
Essential Qualifications:
- Teaching qualification – minimum of Level 5 (e.g. Certificate in Education/PGCE or equivalent).
- Degree or equivalent.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Essential Experience:
- Knowledge and experience of current practices and innovations in the Sector and in Further Education.
- Evidence of the effective management of a team of staff, demonstrating improvements in quality and success indicators to achieve excellence.
- Evidence of leading and supporting staff in the development of strong teaching, learning and assessment embracing innovative practice and leading to demonstrable positive impact for learners.
