Are you a School Leaver? Collinge & Co Training are looking for apprentices to join their Hair Professional Standard Apprenticeship programme starting August 2025.
You will be employed in one of our partner salons in the Bold Street area, Southport and attend training at our Liverpool training centre. You will work 5 days per week – 4 days working in your employer's salon, and one day per week attend training with Collinge & Co Training.
Applicants must be passionate about hairdressing, reliable, punctual, hard working and flexible. You should have an interest in style and fashion and willing to learn or update skills (including Maths & English).

Responsibilities
- The successful person will be excellent at delivering customer service, organised, a good communicator and enjoy working as part of a team.
- Assisting stylists
- Making all visitors feel welcome – taking coats and offering refreshments
- Maintaining a clean and inviting reception and retail area
- Carrying out backwash services e.g. shampooing, hair-care treatments, application of colour
- Assisting with reception duties e.g. answering the phone, booking client appointments
- Gowning up clients
- Serving refreshments
- Maintaining a clean and tidy salon, backwash & dispensary areas
- Offering own services to clients under supervision as part of in-salon training
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- This vacancy is for an apprentice who will work towards the Hair Professional Standard
- Off-the-job training will take place either at Collinge & Co Training in Liverpool or online, on one designated day each week
- You will attend Functional Skills lessons, and where required sit and pass Functional Skills exams
- On the job training will take place within your employers salon
Requirements
- GCSE or Equivalent in Maths & English
- Grade 3 or above achieved / predicted
- The job will involve working with colourants and other chemical products. PPE will be provided.
