The role
We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a curious and motivated individual to join our Advertising Sales team, working within the Professional Services, Legal and Government team (PSLG). This internship is designed to give you hands-on experience in media sales, campaign delivery, and client engagement at one of the world’s most respected news organisations.
This internship is ideal for someone at the start of their career who wants to understand how a commercial team operates and how global advertising campaigns come to life.
What you’ll learn
- You’ll learn how incoming leads are handled using Salesforce, and how to respond to and qualify these opportunities effectively with the support of experienced team members.
- Get involved in projects such as the UK’s Best Employers and Leading Management Consultants by working closely with our marketing partners and external collaborators like Statista.
- You’ll be guided through the process of building media plans and client pitch decks using audience insights, campaign data, and targeting strategies, alongside our Campaign Management and Data Strategy teams.
- Shadow and support team members as they work with smaller clients, observing how campaign objectives are set, managed, and measured.
- Gain insight into the delivery process from contract signing through to final reporting. You’ll help track and close campaigns in our systems and ensure documentation is in place.
- Help keep our sales portfolio up to date by sourcing and curating standout campaign examples used in future pitches.
- You’ll learn how to monitor FT reader engagement via tools like MyFT and Contalto, and how to highlight useful findings for the team.
- Attend team meetings across the wider advertising business and report back on key takeaways that help shape our commercial strategies.
