Job Title: Adult Gaming Centre Gaming Assistant

Location: Champion Gaming – 27, East Street, Derby, DE1 2AU

Job Type: Shift work, Day shift 08:00-17:00, Twilight shift 17:00-23:00; Night shift 23:00-08:00.

Hourly rate: £13.00 per hour between the hours of 08:00 and 23:00 and £13:50 per hour between the hours of 23:00 to 08:00.

Reports To: Venue Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team at our Adult Gaming Centre in East Street, Derby. As a staff member, you will play a crucial role in creating an enjoyable and engaging environment for our customers.

Your primary responsibilities will include assisting customers, managing gaming machines, ensuring the centre is clean and welcoming, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

- Greet and welcome customers as they enter the gaming centre.

- Provide information and assistance regarding gaming machines and facilities.

- Resolve customer enquiries and issues promptly and professionally.

2. Operations:

- Monitor and maintain gaming machines, ensuring they are in good working condition.

- Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.

- Assist with the payout of winnings and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

3. Security and Compliance:

- Ensure all activities comply with local gambiling laws and centre policies.

- Monitor the gaming floor to prevent and address any suspicious or inappropriate behaviour.

- Perform ID checks to verify age and eligibility of customers.

4. Maintenance and Cleanliness:

- Keep the gaming area clean and tidy at all times.

- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of gaming machines and facilities.

- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Venue manager.

5. Promotions and Events:

- Assist in the setup and execution of promotions or events.

- Promote current and upcoming events to customers.

6. Team Collaboration:

- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.

- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:

- Education: Evidence of high school education. Competent in English speaking and basic mathematics

- Experience: Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a gaming or entertainment environment. However, we may consider applicants who have had customer experience in another industry or who demonstrate the correct skills at interview.

- Skills:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.

- Basic technical skills to operate gaming machines and troubleshoot minor issues.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.

Additional Requirements:

- Must be at least 18 years of age.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Must pass a background check (Disclosure and Barring Service, DBS) and provide two references.
