The team…
The Adolescent Service is a newly formed team who provide intensive support for young people aged 10-18 years old who are experiencing difficulties with complex metal health, offending , exploitation, harm outside the home, missing from home or care, homelessness, substance misuse and risk of coming into care.
About the role….
We are currently recruiting for Sessional (ad hoc) Adolescent Interventions Workers to join our team. Evening and weekend working are an essential part of the role. Hours and days of working will be discussed and agreed during the recruitment process.
As an Adolescent Intervention Worker, you will work as part of a multi-agency team with young people and their parents/carers using evidence-based interventions and multi-agency support plans to support children and young people in engaging with services that ensures they achieve their potential in life and to engage families working towards positive outcomes and sustained change.
You will be part of the vulnerable adolescent service that will provide intensive support to young people who meet the criteria of the Vulnerable adolescent Service including:
- Young People on the edge of care
- Young People on the edge of homelessness
- Young People on the edge of hospital admission /complex mental health issues
- Young People involved in offending or serious youth violence
- Young People who are missing from home or care
- Young people who are high risk or victims of Child exploitation
- Young People with hazardous of harmful substance misuse issues
We would be especially interested in applications from people who have worked with adolescents with complex mental health issues. Successful candidates will have experience of working with complex adolescents, understand relational practice and support the voice of the child. Working with complex adolescents is very rewarding and needs people who understand teenagers and their behaviour to engage with them in positive ways which can have significant impact on their lives.
