Job description
You will be working within our main transport department, supporting the team by fulfilling all administration duties. We are looking for someone with great administrative skills, excellent communication and organisational skills. Applicants that show forward thinking and a unique approach to the role will be preferred.
You must be able to multi-task in a busy office environment undertaking a range of administrative and ad-hoc tasks; whilst remaining professional at all times and communicating effectively. Previous experience in a schools admin or within the private hire industry would be beneficial.
This position is on a part time basis and you would be required to work between 09:30 to 14:30 Monday - Friday (this will include a 30 minute unpaid break), it is preferred that the successful applicant could commit to one 'long' day that would finish approx. 17:00 - this can be discussed at interview.
Main duties
- Supporting Transport team assisting with bookings
- Making amendments to bookings and informing necessary stakeholders
- Maintaining and updating all necessary files and complying with data protection
- Auditing of the above files
- Responding/liaising with councils and answering queries within a timely manner
- Liaising with drivers and passenger assistants
- Maintain good working relations with all members of staff
- Adhere to promotion of Equality and Safeguarding at all times
- Perform basic HR duties such as interviewing, onboarding, referencing, scheduling and continuity
- General ad-hoc tasks
- Performing customer service based tasks
The successful candidate will need to:
- Have experience working in a busy office environment
- Be diplomatic, resilient and reliable with an understanding and respect for confidentiality and data protection
- Be extremely organised and meticulous with record keeping
- Be reliable and have good timekeeping
- Have an empathetic nature
- Demonstrate initiative, adaptability and positive attitude
- Work well within a team
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills via telephone, email and face-to-face
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Enhanced DBS (preferable)
