They will provide a tying service, demonstrate good organisational skills, must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.
- Work closely with all grades of clinical and administrative staff
- Empathy and tact when dealing with patients that may be angry or upset regarding any aspect of their care.
- To communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Ensure requests for further information are actioned promptly
- Deal with patient/carer telephone calls and enquiries
- Record clinic outcomes accurately
- Arrange meetings/appointments for patients and relatives
- Open and act on correspondence received
- Undertake a variety of office duties to ensure the efficient and effective support to the department.
- Assist with updating the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all aspects of the administrative pathway that supports the Pain Rehabilitation Team.
The Chronic Pain Service is a team of professionals including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and physical activity specialists. We work together with patients to help manage the effects of on-going pain.
The Chronic Pain Admin Team is a small team consisting of an Admin Team Leader, Medical Secretary, Secretarial Assistant and PRT Administrator and PRT Admin Assistant.
We offer a professional secretarial service to the clinical team.
