At Bridge House Mission, we're dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for individuals facing homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, and involvement in the criminal justice system. As an Adaptable Safeguarding Worker, you'll play a crucial role in safeguarding our service users, colleagues, and facility.
Hours of Work: Experience a minimum 35-hour workweek with additional hours as needed, especially during periods requiring extra coverage. Most shifts will be during nights, weekends, and bank holidays, including Christmas and New Year periods, with occasional day shifts. Your schedule will be provided two weeks in advance, allowing for proper planning and flexibility. Our coverage spans 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Competitive Pay: Earn minimum of £22 804.60 per year, £12.53 per hour.
Key Accountabilities:
· Provide concierge duties
· Ensure Service Users to feel safe in their accommodation
· Encourage Service Users to safeguard themselves
· Treat Service users non judgementally
· Understand and implement the Health and Safety Policy and Fire Procedures within the building
· Complete Health and Safety inspections and reports
· Report and log any incidents
· Monitor CCTV
· Complete hourly building tours
· Ability to represent Bridge House Mission to partner agencies who may visit the building during the shift
· Support the Service Users during specified times when required to do so
· Be an advocate for service users
· Cover cooking duties and help prepare rooms for new service users
Essential:
· Must have a passion for the sector and be able to demonstrate this.
· Understanding of security and safeguarding.
· Knowledge of drugs, alcohol, mental health, offending, homelessness, engaging Service Users.
· Being able to establish and sustain professional boundaries.
· Confidence in oneself and exceptional conflict management skills are fundamental.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Driving Licence.
Benchmark qualification and experience level preferred:
· Previous work experience with vulnerable females and males
· Professional , relevant qualification and demonstrated practice such as SIA Licence
