We are recruiting for an Activities Assistant at Oulton Abbey Care Home.
Job Type: Contracted Hours at 15.5/20.5 hours per week.
Every Thursday and Friday, plus alternate Saturdays
Weekday Hours: 09:15AM – 17:00PM
Weekend Hours: 10:00AM-15:00M
Rate of Pay: £12.40 per hour
Oulton Abbey is an independent residential and nursing home in Stone, our modern and purpose-built building not only offers a comfortable environment for our residents to live but also for our staff to work in.
The Activity team aim to achieve daily meaningful activities for all our residents by providing recreational and leisure-based activities to support, challenge and enhance the psychological, spiritual, emotional and physical well being of all individuals within our care.
Responsibilities
Assist in the delivery of a meaningful, enjoyable, engaging and stimulating activities programme, based on person-centered care principles, throughout the home that involves and includes all residents relative to them as individuals
Supporting the activities co-ordinator where needed
Ensure records relating to activities are accurate and up to date and completing all relevant tasks in a timely manner
Reporting any safeguarding concerns
Always promote independence of our residents to improve their quality of life.
To actively engage with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation related to their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences
Respect residents’ dignity and respect
Observe and record residents’ physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to senior staff.
