About the Role
Are you a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with a flair for numbers? We're seeking a proactive Accounts Assistant to join our team in the heart of Chelmsford. This is a fantastic opportunity to thrive in a modern, vibrant office environment, with convenient access to both the train and bus stations, plus nearby parking. Enjoy a consistent 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday work schedule, allowing for a perfect work-life balance while contributing your accounting expertise.
About you
As a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant you will play a vital part in maintaining the financial health of our company by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
You will have:
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
· Proficiency in accounting software Xero
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Excellent IT skills with the ability to use Excel.
Essential/Highly Desirable:
- GCSEs or Equivalent: Strong passes in Maths and English as a minimum requirement.
- AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians)
- AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting/Bookkeeping
- AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting
- Relevant Vocational Qualifications: NVQs or other college courses in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Business Administration can also be beneficial.
Whilst industry knowledge of Tax would be beneficial, this is not essential to succeed in the role. With our support, you will be able to apply your skills, expertise and desire for knowledge to become a specialist in this field.
You will…
· Record, collect, analyse, and report on financial data.
· Ensure full compliance with financial laws and regulations
· Assist with the analysis of financial data to provide feedback that will assist in decision-making.
· Assist the Accounts Manager in providing Monthly Management Accounts, Debtors/Creditors list, Profit and loss, balance sheet.
· Assist with reconciling accounts weekly
· Invoice Weekly
· Vat Submissions
· Debit/Credit Control
· Expenses
· Support with other elements within R & D Tax submissions
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £23,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 25 per week
