Responsibilities
- Construct wooden frameworks for buildings, including walls, floors, and roofs.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood materials using hand tools and power tools.
- Assemble and install structures and fixtures, such as windows and door frames.
- Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience in wood framing or carpentry is essential.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Proficiency in using various hand tools and power tools safely.
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy materials.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- A valid driver's licence may be advantageous for transportation to job sites.
