We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of windows in various settings. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of construction practices. The Window Fitter will work closely with other tradespeople to ensure that all installations meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Duties
- Install, repair, and replace windows in residential and commercial properties.
- Use power tools and hand tools to complete installations effectively.
- Read and interpret schematics to ensure accurate fitting of windows.
- Ensure that all windows are plumb, level, and properly sealed to prevent leaks.
- Conduct assessments of existing window structures to determine necessary repairs or replacements.
- Collaborate with other trades such as electricians and plasterers to coordinate work schedules.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Perform painting and finishing tasks as required to ensure a polished final product.
- Assist in masonry work related to window installations when necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Window Fitter or in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to window fitting tasks.
- Familiarity with building regulations and safety standards is essential.
- Experience with welding techniques is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to work from heights safely, including roof installations when required.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site effectively.
- A good understanding of plastering techniques will be considered an asset.
