Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fitting and installing windows, ensuring that all installations meet safety and quality standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Window Fitter will be responsible for various tasks related to window installation, including preparation, fitting, and finishing work.
Responsibilities
- Measure and mark window openings to ensure accurate fittings.
- Install windows according to specifications, ensuring they are plumb and level.
- Perform necessary adjustments and repairs to existing window frames.
- Work with various materials including plaster, masonry, and roofing elements as required.
- Fabricate custom window frames when necessary, following schematics and design plans.
- Conduct finishing work such as painting or sealing around installed windows to ensure weatherproofing.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians and welders, to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in window fitting or a related field.
- Proficiency in working with plaster, masonry, and roofing materials is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for accurate installation.
- Familiarity with welding techniques is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
