Introduction to the Department
CZS’ construction team are looking for a Welder/Fabricator to carry out MIG, TIG and ARC welds helping to build new constructions, and repair existing gates; fences etc, together with assisting the general maintenance team when required.
The right person for this job must enjoy working outdoors work in all weather conditions, and must want to work to promote and achieve the high standards of safety and quality compliance that CZS demands for our guests, colleagues and animals. This position requires the individual to cover different areas of the Zoo and necessarily based in a static welding bay.
Role Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG, TIG, and ARC welds helping to build new constructions
- Repair existing gates and fences
- Assist the Maintenance Team when required
- Work to promote and achieve high standards of safety and quality
- Cover different areas of the Zoo including a static welding bay

- Qualified to coded status preferred but not essential
Working Hours
- Full-time role, 5 days per week
- Normal hours will be Monday – Friday 7am – 4.30pm
- You will be expected to work during the school holidays
Uniform
Full uniform will be provided. Uniform must be worn at all times with a name badge.

Evaluation
For the first five months of employment, the jobholder will be asked to complete a one month, three month and five month self-assessment. This will gauge their feelings of the job and assess their progress towards meeting targets.
