Web Designer
Location: Based in Morecambe, Lancashire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
Salary: £25,000–£35,000 negotiable depending on experience
Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays
Contract: Full-time, permanent
About the Role
Social Link Up is looking for a skilled and creative Web Designer to join our growing digital marketing team. This is a fast-paced role that requires someone who can confidently manage multiple website projects and deliver high-quality results. You'll work across a wide range of industries and clients, with plenty of variety and opportunities to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build responsive WordPress websites, including eCommerce stores
- Use of page builders to develop modern, user-friendly website (Knowledge of Elementor is beneficial)
- Build and manage WooCommerce functionality for online stores
- Optimise websites for speed, SEO, and user experience
- Monitor and report on site performance using Google Analytics and Search Console
- Collaborate with the wider team to ensure sites are aligned with marketing goals
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable experience building WordPress websites (portfolio required)
- Understanding of on-page and technical SEO
- Confident using Elementor, WooCommerce, and RankMath (or Yoast)
- Skilled in performance tools such as:
- Google PageSpeed Insights
- Google Analytics and Search Console
- SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Screaming Frog
- GTmetrix or Pingdom Tools
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, user experience, and responsive design principles
- Use performance tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, and SEMrush to guide improvements
