Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, logistics, and team leadership. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient processes, maintaining safety standards, and optimising warehouse performance. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for managing daily activities, supervising staff, and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Manage team performance through effective leadership, training, and development.
- Oversee materials handling processes to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of goods.
- Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and manage logistics effectively.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely dispatch of goods.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment safely while adhering to operational guidelines.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to maintain cleanliness and organisation.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline operations.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and report discrepancies as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of materials handling techniques and logistics operations.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 software is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce.
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes within a warehouse environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement initiatives.
