Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Runner to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The Food Runner will play a vital role in ensuring that our guests receive their orders promptly and efficiently, contributing to an exceptional dining experience. This position requires a keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to the dining area in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all orders are accurate and presented beautifully before serving to guests.
- Assist servers by providing support during busy periods, including refilling drinks and clearing tables.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area and service stations.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to relay any special requests or dietary restrictions from guests.
- Uphold food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Engage with guests, providing assistance as needed and upselling menu items where appropriate.
- Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
- Basic culinary knowledge and understanding of food preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety practices to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Strong guest service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both guests and team members.
- Basic maths skills for handling orders and payments accurately.
- A proactive attitude towards helping others and working as part of a team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
